PHASE TWO DESIGN PROCEDURES
Our goal is to post your home page LIVE, in our proofs directory or at your Domain Name on a live internet accessible server, within five to ten business days of the approval of phase one, although it typically will be done within the first week. There are two scenarios that will occur:
Normally we design all of our sites using an advanced PHP/MySQL solution with an administrator interface that makes it easy for you to edit your own pages. This REQUIRES that you host your site with us, since not all hosting companies have their servers configured to support PHP/MySQL programming.
If your project is a strictly HTML development or if your hosting company's
server is indeed configured for PHP/MySQL and we are not going to be hosting
your website on our servers, we will require FTP access to your hosting server
at this time and/or Root Access to the PHP/MySQL Database Administrator. If
we are unable to access your hosting server, then we will not be able to complete
this phase of development and your project will be delayed accordingly.
NOTE: If you wish to host with another company and you want the advantages of PHP/MySQL programming, be SURE that the server not only supports PHP/MySQL but that it is also already configured to support the PHP/MySQL database modules being used to design your site. Call us for a list of the specific software that the server must be configured to support. Server configuration can be costly (literally thousands of dollars in some cases) and would of course be an extra charge should we be required to configure an off-site server. Your best option is to host your site with us since our servers are already configured with robust support for all of our design software and our rates are VERY reasonable and include FREE maintenance time.
Phase Two primarily deals with the live activation, posting, functionality, site navigation and the configuration of your PHP/MySQL database, meaning the rollover states of the buttons/links, any animations or image swaps, sound files, etc., and the configuration of your Phase 1 design parameters into the database. Make sure all of these items meet your approval EXACTLY, we don't want to step backwards while in Phase 3 to change a rollover state, dynamic font, modify an animation or account for a page that was not planned for, etc. in the Phase 1 or 2 process. Again, if an unforeseen change to Phase 1 or 2 comes up during Phase 3, will defer that change (unless it's very minor) until after Phase 3 is completed. Written approval is required before we can move to Phase 3. (Keep in mind that multiple revisions during this phase will obviously extend the production schedule.)
