THE PROJECT ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENT

In order to get started on your website, we schedule a time for a full assessment of your project. We'll be discussing the look and feel of your site, the layout of the pages, etc. We also explain in detail how the process will go from beginning to end. Plan on at least 45 minutes to an hour at a time when you can be in front of a computer, so we can look at websites together.

During this appointment we will also take some time to set up your GoClickit user account, which will allow you access to track the progress of your site project, view proofs of work in progress and lots of other information by simply logging into your account on our website.

To maximize the assessment appointment, please have these items ready for our conversation:

1) A list of other websites that you like, indicating what specific things you like about them (layout, fonts, colors, images,
animations, etc.). These could be from our samples at www.goclickit2.com or ANY other sites on the web.

2) Think about images, logos or even content that you want us to use on the home page. You can email us digital images
and/or files or send us hard copy to review. We'll need these items before we can do a rough draft of your homepage.

3) A list of what links you will need on the home page so your visitors will be able to access the information on your site in
a way that makes sense for your site content. Links are either buttons that can be clicked on or a text "hyperlink" that is embedded in your banner or somewhere in the text content of a web page. In other words, put some thought into the architecture of the entire site and how you are going to separate your content into separate pages. We don't necessarily have to have a separate link to each website page on your home page. We just need to decide on the optimum number of links that will allow your visitors to access your content in a logical, sensible way. The standard rule is to never make visitors click more than two levels "deep" if possible. When planning content pages, remember that our policy is to keep a website page to no more than two screens of content (roughly the same as an 8 1/2 x 11 single spaced document) as a courtesy to your visitors. No one likes to scroll endlessly down an excessively long page.

4) Keep in mind that there are usually three pages that most sites have in common: Home, About Us, and Contact Us. If
you are doing an E-Commerce site, you also must have a "Policies Page" covering items such as; Return and Exchanges, Shipping, Refunds, etc. (this is required by almost all merchant account providers). For example, if you purchased a 20 page E-Commerce site then you would have 16 pages left for other content.

5) We will need necessary information about your domain name to be able to set up a server account under that domain
name for you. If you don't currently have a domain name we can discuss some possibilities and we will register your new domain name for you at no charge. If you already have a domain name, we will need the name of the company that you used to register it, and also your username and password for your acount with that company. This will allow us to re-direct your domain name to our server, where your website will reside, at the appropriate time.

6) We will also need a list of all email accounts you would like created for use at this domain name so that they can be
activated on the server. We also can "virtmap" or automatically forward emails to an existing account you already have if you prefer. For example, if you would like to post an email address on your site as info@yourdomain.com, we can send all mail sent to that address to your existing AOL account if that would be easier for you.
